I find this topic very interesting, I have often pondered what my position is on animal testing. Of course I don't want to inflict pain on animals and/or encourage cruelty to animals. The great thing is, that the pressures added onto researchers to use humane treatment of animals has encourage/facilitated more innovative ways to conduct research. Lobbyist, politicians, radicals etc. should be proud of the progress that has been made in the overall treatment of animals used for research. Where would we be without animal testing? We would have many life threatening diseases and fewer vaccinations. As a mother of two, I am very grateful for modern medical advances that would not be otherwise here if it weren't for animal testing. At the end of the day, my general view is that the benefits outweigh the consequences. In answer to your question, yes! I would definitely be in favor of better conditions and treatment of animal used for testing research. Great topic!
Great response Jeanette and you are right, you made excellent points. Though, I'm totally against animal test, I don't think I nor any other human being would volunteer to be experimented on despite the side they choose. But I guess its life :/
anyway, your comment went to my introduction blog lol. The comment button for each new blog will be at the top, for some reason the coding won't let me place it at the bottom of the blog :/ so sorry for the confusion lol
First off I love your blog page…your very creative. I would get super frustrated trying to figure out all the steps and codes needed to make my page cute, so kudos! Your post about animal testing was very compelling and I could tell you took the time to read this module. I did my blog post on this controversial issue as well and have to agree that I have mixed emotions about the entire thing. This truly is a no win situation for either side. I found myself leaning towards the abolitionist side because I am an animal lover, and have seen the horrid truth about animal testing in various videos and clips. But at the same time I as a future health professional I can see the benefits of animals testing. In the end I am completely conflicted and need further info for each side to make a conscious decision of what I may support in the future. Other methods defiantly need to be developed soon so that this fierce debate can come to an end.
